{A[,B]}    MIXED             A is a required parameter.  It must be
             FORMS           used.  But you may choose to use ,B or
[X{;Y}]                      ignore it.  In the second case, X is
                             optional:  use it if you want to.  But if
                             you do use X then you must also use the
                             required ;Y, because it's enclosed in
                             braces.  Ignore X and you can ignore ;Y.
